Owl with Heart Designs on His Feathers

Spot-bellied Eagle Owl with heart-shaped spots on his feathers. Photographed in Corbett National Park, India. 🖤 Photo found here.

The owlets are adorable. Found on Pinterest.
This one looks like a live stuffed toy. The rare Spot Bellied Eagle Owl has feathers with heart markings. This owl is also noted for its strange, human-sounding call. It is found primarily in the lower Himalayas from Kumaon east to Burma.

I've never seen nor heard of these owls. I'm blown away by those heart shapes! Fascinating!

Oh! Another heart warming post . . . those owls! *I have a Barred Owl family that lives in the woods around me - they get to 'talking' - it's unbelievable! **My husband would curl up in that chair in the library and never come out!! **enjoy your weekend - we have a flood alert for the river in town - not uncommon - but a full display of what Mother Nature can do . . .

Owls are so pretty, This one really looks so soft! But the claws would tell a different story. Still love them though.

Pam -- "The rare Spot Bellied Eagle Owl has feathers with heart markings. This owl is also noted for its strange, human-sounding call. Karen (with the rabbit icon) Karen, I have Barred Owls in my woods too and love hearing them "talk". Your husband must be a big reader if you can picture him in the Scottish Bookshop. We are having wind and rain all night long tonight. Ugh. Hope you didn't get flooded. Have a nice Halloween weekend. xo, Rosemary

Sherry -- I know what you mean about the size of those claws. I love owls because they eat mice and other rodents. I love to hear them hooting too. xo, Rosemary

Lisa D. -- I had never heard of these owls either. The first photo I saw with the hearts on the feathers stopped me in my tracks and I had to know more so I could share. I'm glad you were excited too. Have a great Halloween weekend. xo, Rosemary
