Mama Pea -- I am terrified of mice in real life but love them wearing clothes in children's books. That kitchen is amazing, isn't it? You can study the details in the drawing and see something new every time.

Love this--adorable and so much attention to detail. I was curious about the artist. It seems that her train rides to and from art classes inspired her to write and illustrate a series of children's books about mouse families. I think I'll check out her books for my grand daughter. You always bring us such treasures, Rosemary! Thank you!!
Pam -- I am wondering who will enjoy the books more, you or your grand daughter? Thank you for the information about the artist. I did not know these self-sufficient mice were created on a train! You know me. I already looked through one of the books via an online library. It was full of fabulous illustrations and the story took me back to the time when neighbors worked together and played together. I think Anna needs the series...and grandma will break them in for her ;)
This is so adorable, Rosemary, and you are the person who introduced me to The Brambly Hedge series. (Of course I was already familiar with Beatrix Potter.) I used to work in a book store, and I worked my way through just about every subject matter that interested me. More recently, I've fallen in love with children's books, especially the ones from an earlier era. They always make me smile. Thanks so much.

I appreciate all small furry critters and these books were favorites, along with Beatrix Potter when our two sons were young. I kept all of the books and read them to my grandkids who also have an appreciation for nature.
