I think my husband would have been very uncomfortable in that room but I LOVE it. ;-). The littlest chair is adorable.

Gail, northern California -- The room is very feminine and I think many men would not be at home in it but I'm so glad you love it. The little slipper chair is wonderful.

Neither. Floral prints are too busy for my mind which needs lots of quiet. Plaids are the most I can handle and even that only gets to be on throw pillows if in the living area. Plaid on a comforter in the bedroom is OK. though, since I spend little time in there when not sleeping. I'm glad different people like different things, though, so I can admire your pictures without having to live with them. :)

I think the rest of the decor in the room really balances the feminine-ness of the chintz upholstery. Because I love floral wall paper AND chintz covered chairs, I'd have to say both also. Maybe not in the same room though.

Linda Sand -- I know you are a minimalist and couldn't live with the busy chintz but I'm pleased you enjoy looking at the photos.

Mama Pea -- Yes, the rest of the decor lets the beautiful chintz take center stage. You voted for both but not in the same room. Good choice.

It's hard to believe that room belonged to Yves St. Laurent. I LOVE flowers, on wallpaper, fabric, and everywhere, but I wonder if I might find them too difficult to live with on a daily basis. Right now, I just have paint, and a large living room with old growth wide, light colored, wood panels, which are beautiful, and not busy at all, but very warm and relaxing. Still, the feminine part of me craves something like this.

One of my Favorite things my husband has ever said, was as he was walking a man around our house many years ago, “when you’re married to a woman and have three daughters, you better learn how to love pink and chintz!” And he loves it! It has been on the walls and the furniture for many years! And he still loves it!

Penelope Bianchi -- Your husband Adam is a prince! What a wonderful husband for you and such a great dad for your three girls. I love seeing photos of them with the grandchildren.

Penelope Bianchi -- Thanks for your reply to Mama Pea recommending chintz wallpaper in the same room with chintz fabric.

lisa, I think there are many famous men that like this decor, especially if they knew Mario Buatta. Your wide-board old growth paneled room sounds absolutely wonderful and cannot be duplicated. You should be happy with it and find a way to love it more. Maybe a chintz pillow or two would work!
