This just seems to settle me.
Some architecture is intended for symmetry in the decor. The French are very big on symmetry and lining up things like doors and windows.
Symmetry or not, it's lovely, inside and out. Love that beautiful lantern in the entrance hall. Bet it casts a welcoming, warm glow at night.
