People always talk about becoming their mothers but I am becoming my grandmother. She used to spend one week in each room of the house doing spring and fall cleaning. My bathroom isn't very big but I managed to spend two whole days cleaning it recently. Keep in mind that I'm easily distracted and take lots of breaks. I'm so proud. I've been showering downstairs in my mother's old bathroom so I can keep mine clean. I'm sure the novelty will wear off any day now and I can go back to being my old self. Honestly, I don't know how people manage to work full time jobs and take care of themselves, much less a family, a house, and a yard. One room down and many more to go. I'll get there eventually.

Rosemary,
I love the blue and white and the other accessories you've added. I work full time and find that when a person works full time they always make time for the things they have to do. I love to garden and always have time to squeeze in maintenance on a part of the garden each week. :)

Isn't it amazing just how long it takes to "deep" clean only one room? I wonder how long it took when women did a full spring and fall house cleaning? I suppose it all depended on how many helpers she enlisted!
It's a mystery to me. I used to get up at 5am, dressed and out of the house at 6:30am .. now I can barely get dressed by 11am. This has got to stop soon. I don't know how I ever did it.
(love the blue & white in the bathroom)

Don't stress, Rosemary.
That's another thing I admire about you. Even though you've lost your mother and now live alone, you keep up your enthusiasm for everyday living. That cannot be easy. The tendency would be to think, "Why bother? Who's going to see it?" But not you. No matter what you work very, very hard at keeping your lovely home lovely. You are amazing to me.
Didn't mean to preach.
I heartily second what Gail said!
