How lovely is this garden gate/door with a round opening? I like what I see of the walled courtyard too. I have someone coming later this morning to give me an estimate on painting and repairing my cottage. I love the color of this door and am considering going "dark" or "all white". I'm leaning towards dark because my cottage is near the road and next to deep woods. Road dirt and mildew would be less visible on a darker color. Will update you later. Have a great day. xo via

What a beautiful picture! The light is so soft and makes you just want to wander through that gate! Love it!!
I know you didn't ask for opinions, but I like the dark, also! Sara
Thank you so much for this photo. At the end of a long day of craziness at work, I open up your blog to be refreshed by the beauty you so graciously share with us. Today's photo just makes me want to say "Ahhhhh." I know it's a lot of work to maintain a blog, and I appreciate the work you invest in bringing us something beautiful.
Your taste is exquisite. No doubt whatever you choose will look beautiful.
What will provide relief for the dark? The trim? Plantings? More lacecap hydrangeas? ;-)
Do keep us posted, Rosemary. All of us love to follow the "goings-on" at the cottage.
oh! me too!
I don't know about not showing dust though.
I had a black car once and it seemed to show more dirt than a white one does!
hopefully doors are different! LOL.
I would love your cottage whichever you chose.
it's in such a lovely setting too.
Looks like Charleston to me and yes that is a wonderful gate.
You've hooked me, I can't wait to read about the cottage paint reno....how exciting.
I confess that paint is my nemesis! I've been doing some in my house this past week and I'm not at all sure that I like what I've chosen. I think picking paint is difficult, probably for me because I'm too picky.
Love that gate. The round top is captivating. The whole garden is really lovely.
What a great gate. I love that it's a dark color.
