Horses Passing My Cottage

These two horses and riders clippity clopped past my cottage sometime over the weekend. Now you can also see my front lawn that is still uncut and will stay that way until we have some much-needed rain. The ground is like concrete and is cracking open. I could check my blog to see when we last had rain but I'm almost afraid to look. I did work on some outdoor planters so it doesn't look as if I am completely oblivious to outdoor work. I picked some lilacs at the home of a friend and the house smells wonderful. I did 521 twirls with my hula hoop after dinner last night in case you are interested. For some reason there are no realtor open houses in my town today. Maybe everyone has the blues after paying their taxes. See you later!

When I lived in downtown San Diego, the horses and carriages would clip clop past my condo, I loved the sound!

I have a $100 Gift Card Giveaway from Soft Surroundings if you would like to enter!!

Once in a while a ride goes by our house. I love to hear them clomping along :) Hope you get some rain, Rosemary. We have had some rain and our new grass from the addition is coming in nicely. I have been hit with a flu bug and Dan, too. Better today, tho...

What a wonderful sight to see on any day of the week.

I know what you mean about the rain, we have not had any either, and I think it is going to be a long summer.

I love that little rooster! Is it cast iron or stone?

Take care and have a great week, Elizabeth

Love the feel of country I get from your shared images of horses and other critters.

I hope you'll have a chance to stop by today 4/17...I featured Content in a Cottage, along with a couple of other delightful sites. You always entertain.

Hi Rosemary! I came over from Karen's blog who made a post today recommending your blog. You have a great blog! And I'm also a Downton Abbey fan! Crossing my fingers for Maggie Smith to appear again in season 3!

Have a wonderful week!

i think your lawn looks fine.
very green considering no rain!
we had a severe drought last spring and summer with heat in the 100's for weeks on end. terrible.
there's nothing more wonderful than life giving soft rain.
i wish it for you very soon,
tammy j

We havent had much rain either. In fact, it's been months since I last saw a good hearty rain fall and I do love to watch the rain come down.
I too love the feel of your blog with it's serene country atmosphere. I am glad to have found it!! Good day!

we had some trail riders go through town about a month ago heading to the Houston Livestock Show & rodeo.
I love lilacs, they are me favortie flower. Our yard in MI was surrounded with them. Sadly they will not grow here.
