I'm so over all those bar stools lined up in a row so your feet don't touch the floor and there is absolutely no eye contact with the people beside you. I usually get up and stand so I can see everyone. I like this arrangement better with a table and chairs adjacent to the island instead. So much more intimate. I couldn't agree more, I really dislike barstool dining. That trend has never appealed to me. It doesn't work with children or older folks. Eating at the counter was for a quick lunch in the five and dime store not for sitting enjoying each others company while you eat a meal no matter how simple the meal might be. I guess you can tell I've been waiting to get this off my chest haha.
