Peonies and Clover Blossoms

My pink peonies are blooming now and they are so beautiful.

I have fields of blooming clover that are spectacular. I can't remember such a profuse first blooming cycle and I don't have the heart to mow over them. The bees are having a "field" day.

It's been a very long time since I've seen bits of blooming clover peeking up through a yard of grass, much less a field of it. Just lovely. Right now, I have a baby bunny (I've named it Sweet Pea) cutting down the stems of my Liatris to get to the emerging blooms to eat. It won't much longer, however, be small enough to sneak through the fence slats to make waste on my patio.

I love your peony! I'm hoping the one I planted will be that colorful.

Interesting. I was thinking the same thing about the clover here in the midwest. I have never seen so many blossoms. It is really beautiful like never before. And the fragrance is wonderful!

JudyMac...
I wish you could send your little bunny up here to feast on my clover blossoms.
Hope you are having a nice summer.

Anonymous...I'm glad you have a bumper crop of clover too. The cold winter we had with so much snow must have agreed with it. It's really a sight to behold.

Sharon....I know you can't wait for your peonies to bloom. A lady who was getting her mother's house ready for selling gave me mine. She was having a garage sale and I bought some gardening items. For some reason I asked her if I could dig up three pitiful looking peony bushes that were going to get trampled by contractors and she said yes. She said her mother would be delighted they were going to a good home. The house was close to mine and I went back after dinner like a thief in the night and dug them up along with a lace cap hydrangea. They make me so happy each spring. Hope yours do too.
