I love skunk cabbage - Don always drives me around in the spring to hunt the first few that come out. I grew up in S.E. Alaska and skunk cabbage was rampant - and it wasn't until years later that I learned we were supposed to hate the smell of it, it always reminds me of spring and I long for a touch of the scent in late winter.

I've never heard of skunk cabbage, is it stinky as the name implies? It's kind of pretty.
