Laundry Flapping in The Wind

I made a fresh batch of my homemade laundry detergent this morning and my first load is flapping in the breeze getting bleached by the sun. I grated my Octagon soap with my micro-plane grater and it worked much better than the box grater I normally use though it took longer. My second load has been sorted and is ready for my front-loading washer. I honestly can't remember the last time I used my dryer. Enjoy the weekend and I'll see you a little later. xo

Thank you for the link to the detergent recipe. I've tried making a homemade liquid laundry detergent before because I, like you, can't stand the over-powering scent of commercial detergents. The liquid never stayed mixed and was a pain to make, so I'm excited to try out the powder.

What is it about laundry hanging on the line???? I just love it. I smile everytime I see it-it just makes everything seem "all right".
Have a great weekend, Rosemary!

What a charming photo. I would dearly love to have a clothes line but they are not allowed in the community in which I live. In the summer I drape my sheets over the wicker furniture to dry out on my screened porch. I love the the smell of air dried linens. Out west where I grew up, laundry would dry in about 15 minutes in the summer.

I don't think I have ever left a comment for you. I want you to know how much I love your blog - whenever I check my email, and see the notification from "Content in a Cottage," I open up this first. Especially after a difficult day, I know that I'll find something beautiful, touching - and definitely peaceful - on your blog.

Thank you!! You can't even imagine how much this means to me!

(and - there is *nothing* like the smell of fresh laundry after drying outdoors!)
