Books And Antiques Are Perfect Together

Two photos illustrating how perfectly books fit into any antique setting. Bookcases and bookshelves aren't just for books either. Mix all of your beautiful things together for interest and color. Scanned from one of my favorite books, Decorating with Pictures by Stephanie Hoppen.

Have a wonderful and relaxing Sunday. Rosemary

These pictutres are me to a "T", Rosemary. I would be very comfortable in either of the rooms that have these bookshelves and books. The pictures and decorative elements do break up the books so nicely.

Rosemary,
I agree! Bookshelves are a world onto themselves. Mixing the two is perfect. Great images!

I love hanging paintings on bookshelves and in windows.
This could be your house or Katie R.

As much as I love designing, even now after 20+ years. Books, are my favorite of all. Next to flowers. They both breathe life into me. Though, I agree with all the comments...Nothing is more lovely than to mix antiques with books. That is way I am so fond to have my library, also as my dining room. One can always be assured to dine with friends!! -) Hope everyone is staying warm this evening. And, if I may suggest, any extra, blankets, food or clothes please bring to a shelter tomorrow. Rosemary, hope you're warm by a fire with a good book. maureen
