Beautiful Vintage Button

Can one old button deserve an entire blog post?
Yes, this one can.
Agreed?

OMG, this is an absolute treasure, and is charming beyond belief! It's so sad that these beautiful objects are no longer made. Everything now is mass produced. Thank you for sharing this little gem, Rosemary.

Agreed when it's as pretty as that one. I do think that's the loveliest button I've ever seen.

Yes, it's lovely. It reminded me of when we used to make cards that started with a 2-hole button as the basis for a face then decorated them with felt, feathers, lace, etc., to make hats and collars.

Linda Sand -- Sounds like a fun craft that starts with sewing on a button. Or maybe you glued it on the card. xo, Rosemary

I love this. I collect buttons but unique ones are getting harder and harder to find these days.

Beautiful!! They're not making many of those anymore. I remember the mother of pearl buttons that my grandma always sewed on her garden dresses. Fancy buttons were for her "church clothes."

Pam -- Your grandmother sounds delightful. I love mother of pearl buttons and they must have been beautiful on her gardening clothes. And her Sunday church clothes with the special buttons must have been lovely. Such nice memories for you. xo, Rosemary
