Those are cool. In a house with children, shelves like that are fantastic for "facing out" picture books that people would overlook if they were shelved in the traditional library-style way. I really want some shallow shelves on one wall of our family study for that purpose -- so many picture-book covers are art in themselves, and it seems such a waste to have only their spines visible.

Great idea. I have quite a few books with boring spines and great covers hiding on my own bookshelves.
It would be one way to display your "coffee-table" books without having to have them all on the coffee table!
