Baby Bluebird Rescue Day 2

I think this is a different juvenile bluebird that flew the coop this morning.

He/she can't fly either.

Webster looks through the screen wondering, "When is this foolishness going to be over so I can go in the backyard again?"

"What should I do?" this young bluebird asks my mother. She's legally blind from macular degeneration and had to get very close to to see this little one. She'll be 90 in October and she's still going strong except for her eyesight. She doesn't dye her hair either...really! I think she's beautiful inside and out.

Where's the father bluebird when you need him? He should be here giving flight school lessons.

What can be done for that sweet little bird? I would have to keep Bentley inside too. As sweet as he is, he would still try to attack that little guy. Your mom is so adorable. My mom has macular degeneration too. Although she sees a retina specialist regularly, all that can been done has been done and her eyesight will never improve. Such a heartache for her and I am sure for your mother too. God Bless them both!! Keep us posted on the little guy.

Love,
Susan and Bentley

What a sweet photo of your Mother and baby bird. My Mother, too, has macular degeneration, like Susan's and yours. :( It is sad for them. It strips so much of their independance :( Poor Webster... He will just have to have another nappy! Have great rest of the weekend!

I was always taking in sick or injured birds as a child and never knew quite what to do for them. I cried each time one died. I hope this little guy makes it. Beautiful photos!
