Thanksgiving Day At Home
It's so nice to be home for the holidays, especially Thanksgiving. Here's hoping all of the travelers arrive safe and sound. I'm cooking cornish game hens this year instead of turkey. All of the trimmings will remain the same; cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, raw cranberry relish, a sweet potato dish (maybe), brussel sprouts, popovers and pie. Yum.
I got a few new old books this week with wonderful graphics. I was so excited when I found this image. I love making these illustrated quotes and sharing them with you.

Wild about Crests . . .
Welcome to Isel Hall, a 15th century Historic house in England's Lake District.
Isel Hall
The Lawson Crest, the sun supported by the arms of the law, is a motif which is much in evidence both outside and inside the hall.
Distant view of the estate showing a pair of the crests atop a stone wall.
Closer view of a wonderfully weathered crest.
Rooster crest on my everyday antique English silver flatware. I couldn't believe my luck when I found the set at a local flea market!
I have a 19th century antiquarian book entitled The Royal Book of Crests. It is full of engraved crests like the rooster above. I am always using them with my illustrated quotes.
Thanks for stopping by. See you on the internet! ♥Rosemary
