Exploration ...I absolutely love the Lake District. Exploration is endless, and it's such a beautifully peaceful place. I have been so many times.

Hiking alone is very easy, there are short and easy walks and well mapped. You can pick up these little maps in most of the villages. In addition, most areas have scheduled guided hikes. These are quite enjoyable, and you meet so many other people in your group.

On a good day, Cat Bells is so full of "fell" hikers ... People are ahead and behind you all the way.

Read up and go. There are a lot of options depending on where you want to be and what kind of experience you want. The areas around Windemere and Coniston are fairly flat and easy.

Karen in VA Karen in VA (was CT)https://www.blogger.com/profile/10530127612439104603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7823162730236792476.post-66260294032996064462015-08-24T20:32:14.559-04:002015-08-24T20:32:14.559-04:00This picture is beautiful. K., but have wondered if I could tackle any of them without getting lost on my own. If I had a walking partner, I think I would definitely give it a go provided the trail isn't too steep. :-)JudyMachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04448320253904832677noreply@blogger.com
