I, too, love sleeping with a window open. I am able to go one step further. My bedroom opens onto a screened in porch. I sleep with the French doors open . Not only do I wake up to the birds , I also hear the river flowing by and sometimes early morning boaters. We are one of the few who live year round on a road of vacation homes. And - the owners seldom vacation! It's a quiet, beautiful place to live and I am very blessed to live here.Clairehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17273192099765064258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7823162730236792476.post-41793074959027815492019-04-24T22:49:29.130-04:002019-04-24T22:49:29.130-04:00It's a wonderful kitchen with that window look...It's a wonderful kitchen with that window looking out into the garden. I do sleep with my bedroom windows open this time of year when the weather is lovely, but I live in a two story house. Alarms are still activated downstairs. I love to hear the crickets, frogs and all nocturnal creatures. There are morning doves that call out. They have a very melodious call. I'm getting so I can identify some of the bird calls. This morning I saw an opossum on my back hill! I was astonished as I thought these timid, fearful creatures only came out at night. I'm blessed to live in a suburban area with lots of wildlife. One does have to watch out for coyotes if you have pets, though, and there are mountain lions that frequent the area too. I remember a time when we didn't even lock our doors! Those days are over forever, no matter where you live.Lisa D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08333815608310503191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7823162730236792476.post-73343746097815251192019-04-24T15:01:35.022-04:002019-04-24T15:01:35.022-04:00We usually go from having the heat running to swit...We usually go from having the heat running to switching over within a week to having the air conditioning on. Even if that wasn't the case, I could never have a window open. Even in one of the nicest neighborhoods in this city (with 24 hour guards) it would be too dangerous.Catherinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05626767881036539940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7823162730236792476.post-18007966027312589132019-04-24T09:14:41.497-04:002019-04-24T09:14:41.497-04:00So pretty. So pretty.Debhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06817710263282488135noreply@blogger.com
