The complex carbs burn more slowly than the refined ones and don't turn to sugar the minute they you swallow them. Stick to the top list as much as you can. Cooking from scratch is a good idea too. I eat butter too and decided long ago it had to be better than all the fake butter products that are so highly processed.<br />I don't know about the food pyramid. I think we all will be fine if we switch to unrefined foods when possible. That's the secret.
