H...Hi Gail and Rosemary, Peter Neumeyer is my dad. He's written a bunch of children's books (and was an esteemed scholar of childrens' lit for many years), but of course his collaboration with Edward Gorey was especially fortunate, exciting and perhaps life changing. They had a lot of fun together, they very much enjoyed each other's company in person, but their correspondence was also very special -- many, many letters exploring an extremely wide range of subjects, but the envelopes were of course just phenomenal. I was not even a teenager yet when they had that correspondence, but I remember what a thrill it was every time one of them arrived in the mail. Glad you enjoyed them too. :-) Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11983651511608033415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7823162730236792476.post-40615119009932095012020-09-20T19:26:43.094-04:002020-09-20T19:26:43.094-04:00I ordered "Floating Worlds" from my loca...I ordered "Floating Worlds" from my local independent bookstore too. I hope they work to save the USPS because going out to get my mail is one of my favorite things to do. Thank you. I, too, enjoy decorating my envelopes to dear friends. Lately, I've been painting red hearts to resemble a kite and the kite string says, "SAVE THE USPS!" I paint them on every piece of mail being sent. Can you imagine a world where no one will receive a handwritten love letter. Too sad for words.Gail, northern Californiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05606476543639979603noreply@blogger.com
