Shelf Over The Door | Weekend Project

This looks like a fun weekend project that would be rather easy. via Home Depot + Poppytalk.

A Real Stork's Nest

I've always wanted to see a genuine stork's nest. There is a cottage nearby with a replica build on the roof that I must photograph before the trees hide it completely. This is wonderful, isn't it? Found on Pixdaus.

Where There's A Will, There's A Way

I hope you can find a friend to help you do the things you can't do by yourself this weekend. This photo made me smile and I hope it brightens your day as well. Have a great Saturday, Rosemary.

and a nice long drive down a country road lined with miles of rail fencing. Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Enjoy yourself whatever you do.

Friday Bluebird Fix

There is a lot of activity in all the holes of this birdhouse with bluebirds building nests in each compartment. I never knew they liked communal living but I guess I was wrong. I snapped this photo from my attic studio. The second pic was cropped from the first to show you the bird up close. I never get over the thrill of seeing such beautiful plumage. They really are the birds of happiness. I hope you have a happy day too.

UPDATE: I just added the third photo. Look closely and you'll see the female taking nest-building material into the hole. The male just hangs around looking beautiful or perches on top of the house acting as the lookout.

I currently use Adobe Photoshop Elements for all my photo editing.

View This Morning From Webster's Window

It rained all night and it's much cooler today as promised. I took Webster out for a nice morning walk with coffee cup in hand. The skunk cabbage is getting huge and everything smelled so nice and fresh.
I am sitting at my computer with my second cup of coffee and Webster is sitting at his window surveying his domain. This is what he sees. I focused my lens on his head for the first shot and on the view for the second shot. He's a lucky dog, isn't he? The birds are singing, the trees are budding, and everything is bright green. Happy Friday. Have a great day. Rosemary and Webster.

More Galley Kitchen Love

You already know how much I love a galley kitchen. You can't go wrong with black and white or all white can you? I love the transom windows in the last photo. I'm not entirely sold on the black cabinets in the first kitchen but I'm wild about the floor. I think I'd be happier in the second kitchen with the white cabinets. I love all that glass too so I could feel as if I were inside and outside at the same time. Which one do you like?

Tulips And Other Spring Flowers

ery nice photo of spring flowers but unfortunately, they aren't mine. The daffodils on the counter behind my kitchen sink are starting to wither and I dare not pick the few that are left outside. I have one lone tulip that the critters missed and it has two buds. My fingers are crossed that they will bloom and not get "nipped in the bud" by a browsing deer. The house is nice and cool but the thermometer is supposed to hit 82 later on. Tomorrow's high will only be 64 if the predicted cold front comes through. I have a few hard tasks I'm saving for the coolness. I have to dig up some wild native barberry from the woods and move them to my hedgerow in front of the spruce trees along the road. They form the perfect living fence that helps keep all the bikers from throwing their water bottles in my yard. See you a little later if I find anything interesting to post. Enjoy the day, Rosemary. My vase of flowers is shown below before they started to dry out.

Bleeding Hearts

Aren't these beautiful? I don't have any bleeding hearts at my cottage but they are on my list for a certain shady spot. I had them at my first house and remember them to be pretty carefree, one of my requirements for new plantings from now on. Life's too short to be spraying, deadheading and mollycoddling the plants.

Inviting Bedroom All in White

I've been saving this bedroom for a goodnight post. Tonight is the night. My power was off for over 3 hours for no reason and it just came back on. Only three houses were affected so they didn't rush out. I finally called again and told them there was a downed wire that was spitting fire and they should come before it got much darker. They were here in 20 minutes. I was so annoyed.

This white bedroom with the white bed looks so cool and inviting. It's way too hot way too soon and I'm very grouchy. It is supposed to cool off nicely by Friday and I can't wait. See you in the morning...I hope I get up on the right side of the bed. Just kidding. I'm fine now. Sleep tight.

Life's Little Instruction Book | Volume II | Page 8

If I don't, who will? Boy, #542 is hard to do, isn't it? I'd love to have a piece of my mother's cold fried chicken and some potato salad for lunch about now. That would taste so good. I'll have to settle for some split pea soup I made yesterday using the leftover Easter ham. It was delicious.

Daffodils In My Window

The sun was streaming through my kitchen so nicely this morning backlighting my vase of daffodils. After cropping and adjusting a bit with Adobe Photoshop Elements, this is what I got. Like it?
