Save Those Egg Shells For Starting Seeds

Just a reminder to save your egg shells or eggshells for starting your seeds. Save the egg cartons too. This is the ultimate in recycling.

Bunny Ears Napkin Folding for Easter

Maybe those of you familiar with origami can figure this out. I haven't tried to fold a napkin into bunny ears yet and probably won't but I like the idea. Thanks to Martha Stewart. Click on the link for larger images and an update or two. Nice for your Easter table.

Sweetest Child's Room Ever

I absolutely love this map bed, don't you? It's in the perfect boy's room that he won't outgrow anytime soon. So sweet and not too juvenile. I like the wooden soldier lamp too. Actually I like it all. Interior design for children must be so much fun.

A Totally Knitted Home

Natural gas commercial

This is so clever. Imagine every surface of your home covered with knitting. Amazing and warm I would imagine. I try to remember that there are people in other parts of the world that are going into colder weather as we are going into our spring mode. This is for the people down under.

French Kitchen Table With Marble Top

I love this French table with a marble top from Crate and Barrel. It would be a great kitchen island too. $1299. Crate and Barrel - French Kitchen
I have Thonet chairs like these that came with my cottage.

Drive-In Movies At Home

I still miss drive-in movies, don't you? Nothing else comes close. Wouldn't you love to have this at your house? I remember seeing this long ago and was happy to be reminded of it again today. Someone actually has this on the back side of their house. Too cool for words.

And while we are on the subject, I miss drive-in restaurants too complete with delivery persons on roller skates. I wish someone would open one near me. I think it would be a big hit.

I love this pillow. Useful and inspirational at the same time.

Bluebird At The Cottage

Have I missed my window of opportunity to take this birdhouse down, clean it out and repaint? The bluebirds have already been going in and out of each compartment to stake out their nesting places. It really looks awful. I might be able to clean it in place with some warm water and a brush. I took this photo last weekend.

I took this photo in January. I wonder if it's the same bird that's perched on top of the birdhouse? It's sunny, cool, and very windy today so things should dry out from all the rain we've had. Happy Friday.

Saint Malo, France

Before I turn off my computer for the night, I though it would be nice to visit Saint Malo, France. I'll definitely have sweet dreams after seeing this lovely photo. Love the sun rays. Goodnight.

Easy Chair Covers Made From Dish Towels

Don't you absolutely love this idea? I have two bistro chairs and I think I'll make covers for their backs out of some pretty dish towels that are too nice to use for drying dishes. So beautiful and so easy too. Wouldn't you like to be invited to this picnic?

Reading In The Attic Of A Cottage

I could almost do this but Webster would have to move. I think I'll go downstairs to finish my wonderful book. See you later. Rosemary

Tulips Standing At Attention

What a riot of color. These tulips look like soldiers standing at attention. Hope you have a happy spring day. It's still cool and rainy at my cottage.

Acorn Drawer Pull

I love acorns and oak leaves in any form. I have an antique sewing table with these wonderful brass pulls.

The Beekeeper's Apprentice

The Beekeeper's Apprentice by Laurie R. King. (The author has a great website.) A novel of suspense featuring Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes. This is the page-turning mystery I'm reading today. It's soooooo good.

I took a little break to whip up two batches of homemade yogurt. I scanned the book cover to share. Highly recommended. Back to reading now. Later, Rosemary

A River Of Blue Flowers

Isn't this river of blue flowers beautiful? I'm engrossed in a good book and it's raining hard outside so I'm seizing the day. My taxes are finished and I deserve some time off. Later, Rosemary

Monday Kitchen Love

I love everything about this kitchen, the white subway tiles, the white cabinets, the gray granite, the gray and white checkerboard floor, the stainless appliances, the artwork, the blinds, absolutely everything. I especially like the cabinet above the sink with side cutouts resembling an antique hanging cupboard. This is absolute perfection in my book.
