Life's little Instruction Book, page 120 + a few photos . . .

Such a clever use of space.

Thanks for stopping by the cottage for your visual tour and daily dose of inspiration. It is hazy, hot, and humid morning in New Jersey. It's going to be a scorcher. So far, I have not turned on my central air at all this year. I just pretend I am in Alabama on days like this. Webster has never been there so he just goes under the bed which must be the coolest place in the house. Enjoy. ♥Rosemary

Recovering from the rain . . .

At noon on Sunday it looked more like midnight with a solid sheet of water falling from the sky.

This morning my rosemary plant looked happy. Actually it has never looked better!

Mushrooms are popping up everywhere.

The Queen Anne's Lace is so heavy with moisture, it can't even hold its head up.

Shiny and wet.

These raspberries are just out of reach. They are not quite ripe enough for me anyway.

First fall color is out there if you look hard enough.

Joe Pye Weed is coming up in a new area. I like it very much.

A view of my rain forest.

A blog reader sent me this photo. Isn't it wonderful? Vertical gardening at its best. Thanks Judy!

Webster got me up early this morning. I am having FIOS installed today. Have no idea what my internet will be like so if you don't see me tomorrow, you will know there is a problem. Hopefully it will be "blazing fast" just as advertised. Will let you know.

Thanks for stopping by the cottage. Happy Monday. Hope it is a good beginning of the week for you and yours. ♥Rosemary

This young man has the best balance of anyone I've ever seen. I have to hold my breath while watching him perform these unbelievable stunts on his bike. Please watch too. I promise you won't be sorry.

Have a great Sunday. Thanks for stopping by the cottage today. Is your heart beating faster now? ♥Rosemary

Life's little Instruction Book, pages 118 + 119 + cottage photos . . .

Happy Friday. I woke up to rain this morning. Thankfully I mowed on Wednesday and Thursday for at least 4 hours each day...maybe more. I can't tell you how good it is to be "back in the saddle again" after being without my riding mower for way too long. The grass was so long in my middle field that I had to put the blade up as high as it would go. I don't keep the whole property clipped way down since I enjoy seeing what will come up in the way of wildflowers and weeds. Today is the last day of July I am already starting to think about the leaf season. I want to get everything ready for fall. I hope I can pace myself to do just a little every day instead of killing myself the way I usually do.

The cleomes have gone wild and are coming up everywhere spilling over into the driveway. I didn't plant a single one...they are all volunteers from a patch I planted 5 years ago. They reseed like wildfire...looking very much like exploding fireworks when they are in full bloom.

Thanks for stopping by the cottage for a visit. Have a great weekend. ♥Rosemary

Lou Costello buys a computer | Hilarious skit . . .

You have to be old enough to remember Abbott and Costello, and too old to REALLY understand computers, to fully appreciate this. For those who sometimes get flustered by computers, please read on...

If Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were alive today, their infamous sketch, 'Who's on First?' might have turned out something like this:

COSTELLO CALLS TO BUY A COMPUTER FROM ABBOTT

ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you?

COSTELLO: Thanks I'm setting up an office in my den and I'm thinking about buying a computer.

ABBOTT: Mac?

COSTELLO: No, the name's Lou.

ABBOTT: Your computer?

COSTELLO: I don't own a computer. I want to buy one.

ABBOTT: Mac?

COSTELLO: I told you, my name's Lou.

ABBOTT: What about Windows?

COSTELLO: Why? Will it get stuffy in here?

ABBOTT: Do you want a computer with Windows?

COSTELLO: I don't know. What will I see when I look at the windows?

ABBOTT: Wallpaper.

COSTELLO: Never mind the windows. I need a computer and software.

ABBOTT: Software for Windows?

COSTELLO: No. On the computer! I need something I can use to write proposals, track expenses and run my business. What do you have?

ABBOTT: Office.

COSTELLO: Yeah, for my office. Can you recommend anything?

ABBOTT: I just did.

COSTELLO: You just did what?

ABBOTT: Recommend something.

COSTELLO: You recommended something?

ABBOTT: Yes.

COSTELLO: For my office?

ABBOTT: Yes.

COSTELLO: OK, what did you recommend for my office?

ABBOTT: Office.

COSTELLO: Yes, for my office!

ABBOTT: I recommend Office with Windows.

COSTELLO: I already have an office with windows! OK, let's just say I'm sitting at my computer and I want to type a proposal. What do I need?

ABBOTT: Word.

COSTELLO: What word?

ABBOTT: Word in Office.

COSTELLO: The only word in office is office.

ABBOTT: The Word in Office for Windows.

COSTELLO: Which word in office for windows?

ABBOTT: The Word you get when you click the blue 'W'.

COSTELLO: I'm going to click your blue 'w' if you don't start with some straight answers. What about financial bookkeeping? You have anything I can track my money with?

ABBOTT: Money.

COSTELLO: That's right. What do you have?

ABBOTT: Money.

COSTELLO: I need money to track my money?

ABBOTT: It comes bundled with your computer.

COSTELLO: What's bundled with my computer?

ABBOTT: Money.

COSTELLO: Money comes with my computer?

ABBOTT: Yes. No extra charge.

COSTELLO: I get a bundle of money with my computer? How much?

ABBOTT: One copy.

COSTELLO: Isn't it illegal to copy money?

ABBOTT: Microsoft gave us a license to copy Money.

COSTELLO: They can give you a license to copy money?

ABBOTT: Why not? THEY OWN IT!

(A few days later)

ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you?

COSTELLO: How do I turn my computer off?

ABBOTT: Click on 'START'.............

I couldn't resist posting that. A friend forwarded it to me yesterday and I though it was hilarious. Hopefully you haven't already seen it. Thanks for stopping by the cottage for a little corny slapstick. Have a great day. ♥Rosemary
