Yet another toad comes to visit . . .

The toads come and go. This is the third one to spend a few days in the toad house. Tabitha (the cat) found him behind the garage yesterday at the end of a walk and he was still in the garden this morning. We do love our toads, don't we?

My back is better but a long way from being normal. I am going to keep doctoring it until it's well. The invalid life is not for me. I am the first to admit that I have overworked it and the rebellion has begun.

I had a gutter man here yesterday cleaning out the clogged downspouts in preparation for today's storms. He was a nice general home repair man and I can think of so many things he can help me do. I feel relieved that I've found someone. I think I will hire out my next mowing too.

Sounds as if I'm getting soft, doesn't it? Have a great weekend.

Life's Little Instruction Book, page 103 . . .

I am having a difficult time sitting at the computer today. Yesterday as I was putting on my wellies to take Webster for a walk in the rain something happened to my back. I have never had any back trouble and have always enjoyed doing super-human hard work. Hopefully, it will be better soon. Sorry for the short post. Cross your fingers that this pain is short lived.

Happy Friday. Have a great weekend.

Photos from my Cottage and others too . . .

I love this cottage entrance. Don't you?

A built-in bed with a window. I want this!
I love the mirror treatment on the closet doors too.

This is my guest room/dressing room. Another view of this room.
I got the mirror recently at a tag sale and put it up myself.
It makes the room look ever so much bigger. Love it.
As for my reflection ... don't love it. :-)
If you look carefully you will see Webster staring at his reflection.

I love this shadow play in my cottage.
It helps me remember that there was once a sunny day.

The view from my window right now. Another rainy day.

Cottage Architecture and Photography . . .

My friend Millie over at The Laurel Hedge recently featured a house by the architectural firm that designed the houses on Cape Cod I've featured below. Their work is featured in a book that would be a wonderful addition to my architectural library. Enjoy.

Out Weeding . . .

Happy Monday. I weeded for 8 straight hours yesterday. They came up very easily because of all the rain we've had and it wasn't hot. I am nearly finished. Webster and I were both happy and pretty tired at the end of the day. And guess what? It rained all night. The sun is shining brightly this morning to show off all our hard work.

Now I must search the shed to locate this cute hand-painted sign I bought years ago at a garage sale. It's in there somewhere! Thanks for stopping by the cottage. ♥Rosemary

Life's Little Instruction Book, page 101 + 102 . . .

If the author were writing this book today, I think he'd revise #342 and suggest renting a hybrid because of gas prices and global warming. Enjoy your Sunday. Thanks for visiting the cottage today. ♥Rosemary

White flowers photographed around the cottage . . .

Here are some random photos taken just before dusk last night. Happy Saturday. It has finally stopped raining. I don't know how to act. I will be firing up my mower as soon as everything dries out. Have a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by the cottage. ♥Rosemary

Oh Deer . . .

Webster is beginning to wonder if I will ever finish all the paperwork I am currently doing so he can have part of his window seat back. Answer: Yes, I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

This doe was photographed yesterday getting some nourishment at wood's edge. She has either just given birth or is about ready to produce a Bambi or two. I can't wait to see the fawns.

Raindrops keep falling on my head . . .

Some random photos I took around the cottage yesterday:

I know I sound like a broken record but when even Mr. Toad can't face life outside his toad house, it's time for some sun. He is humiliated that there was a piece of grass on his head but I think he's still very handsome, don't you?
