Geometric Shapes in My Morning Sky

View out my kitchen window early this morning. I walked past my closed Roman blinds in the living room and didn't see this amazing view until I reached the kitchen sink. I immediately went outside to get a larger view.

One orange cloud looks like a bird in flight. The long streaks are like strokes of a pen or paint brush. The sun was rising and it was very beautiful. I ate the last two slices of a cantaloupe to celebrate the orangishness of my morning.

Happy Tuesday morning. Hope you have a great day.

Nice Winter Sky at My Cottage

NICE WINTER SKY
This snow scene from my balcony could also be called The Calm Before The Storm! I don't think it will dump more than 7 inches and I can handle that easily. Anyway, it's nice to see a blue sky with white clouds today. xo

Clouds Viewed from My Cottage

It has been a strange 27 hours. When I drove through a ferocious downpour and arrived home at a little after 5:00pm I heard my generator when I got out of my car. I am thankful I have it but I am always anxious for the power to be restored. It finally came back on at 4:00 this afternoon. This photo was snapped on Friday qt 8:30. It's the same sky as my previous photo but a different orientation. Click to enlarge.

View from My Living Room this Morning

I was sitting on my sofa this morning behind the laptop screen you see in the lower left. I had both French doors wide open and I haven't had screen doors on them in years. I picked up my phone so I could share my beautiful view with you. It has been so nice having a few nice days with no rain. xo

Nice Clouds at My Cottage

Yesterday started out as a rainy day and ended with beautiful clouds on the horizon at sun down. I took this photo from my back balcony. The temperature dropped overnight and it was very windy. I had to pick up some big sticks on Webster's morning walk.
I read an article online that season 7 of Doc Martin is coming to PBS station KCET in California on Thursday, January 14. I'm so jealous. I hope my local station picks it up soon since it's the final season. Boo Hoo.

Pink Sky this Morning

I'll be happy when the grass starts looking better in my photos. I woke up early enough this morning to enjoy this beautiful pink sky. Webster had another wedge of cornbread on his breakfast and he thanks you all for his birthday greetings yesterday. See you later. xo

Amazing Sky this Morning at My Cottage

Wow. This sky was simply amazing this morning. It didn't last long with the sun's rays but it was beautiful for a minute or so.

Great Sky at My Cottage Recently

The cloud machine was working last week. I got this shot just before the sun went down. How did you like Downton Abbey last night? What a great ending. I won't spoil it for those of you who didn't or haven't watched yet. They really featured every character, didn't they? xo

Sunset Sky at My Cottage Today

I almost missed this evening's fiery sky. I no sooner raised my window, leaned out to take the photo, and it was gone. This is where the sun rises every morning to the left so this is the reflection of the sunset taking place in front of the cottage. I can't see a true sunset because of tall trees. The weather has been so strange lately and now they are saying Sunday will be 66° which is at least 20° above normal. So much for a White Christmas. I know so many people who will be traveling on Christmas Day, I can't say I'm sorry. I'm glad they will probably have good weather for flying or driving. Fingers crossed.

Lovely Fall Day with Nice Sky at My Cottage

I had such a busy day doing really hard things. Not physically hard, but mentally so. I have the Verizon Triple Play and the battery on my phone box has been dead for almost a year and beeps all the time. It's downstairs so it doesn't bother me. Verizon wanted me to buy a new one myself and put it in. I refused. Today they finally broke down and sent me one and I had to figure out how to put it in. Mission accomplished. Now my phone will work again (for a short time) during a power outage.

The other struggle was in the attic. You know all about my new little window up there which I love so much. I had a storm window inside the room when there was just a louver on the outside peak. My new window is not double glass so I decided to clean and put the inside one back up for the winter to prevent heat loss. I took it outside to hose it down and when I took out the screen the two sliding glass panels came out too. Great for cleaning. Bad for putting back together because I hadn't studied how it worked. After about a zillion combinations, I finally found the right one. I left off the screen so I can reach through and open my outer window when it gets too warm up there. I am so happy I am blessed with patience, a logical mind, and the ability to fix things. My mother and I always repaired everything around the house because my dad was clueless. I don't know how they managed Christmas toys without my help. I couldn't do the mower battery but I did the big phone battery. There are only a few things I've had to walk away from in my lifetime because I couldn't do them. It's very satisfying when you finish a frustrating project, isn't it?

Saturday Morning Sky at My Cottage

I have been sleeping more soundly lately now that all of my cottage workmen have come and gone but I am still waking up too early in the morning. This beautiful sunrise sky with Maxfield Parish clouds was my reward today. Would I rather be sleeping? Maybe. I'll let you know later. I mowed all of my front lawn and part of the back near the house with my walk behind power mower yesterday before the afternoon shower. I tried to start up my riding mower but she wouldn't turn over so I think I need a new battery. I hate to get one at the end of the season but I really have to cut once or twice more before winter sets in. It's always something, isn't it? Have a great weekend.

Crescent Moon at Sunrise this Morning

I got up a little before 7:00 this morning and was greeted by both the sun and the moon. I quickly grabbed my camera and took this photo so you could see the beautiful sky too.
