Bedrooms with Upholstered Headboards

Tour Kit Kemp's residential renovation in London. You will see each room photographed by Simon Brown in the house tour. It is an exercise in mixing patterns. This isn't quite so obvious in the two rooms I have chosen to feature with plain rather than wallpapered or textile covered walls.

THE PERFECT BEDROOM

I don't recall ever seeing a more perfectly made bed! I could fall asleep between those crisp white sheets in an instant. This bedroom ticks all the boxes and I absolutely love everything in it. via

Christmas Eve for Three Lucky Girls

Isn't this the sweetest bedroom for three little girls to share? The rustic beds with the flannel sheets and woolen blankets must be so cozy. I love the windows over the beds too with deep sills. Waking up on Christmas morning with filled stockings at the foot of your bed must be the happiest childhood memories ever for these girls. via

Pair of Built-in Bedroom Cupboards

What to do when you can't find the perfect pair of cupboards for your master bedroom when building your house? Find a woodworker who can build them flush with the wall! On the other side there is a fireplace and a pair of bookcases in the sitting room/library. The deep wall in between the two room provides extra sound proofing for sleeping. This is a sneak preview of my new listing that goes live on Monday.

Wonderful Bedroom for Two Boys

Another celebrity couple are featured in a July 2017 post in Architectural Digest. This is my favorite room, shared by two young brothers. The caption below the photo in the article (link is fixed) mentions the source of all decorator items except the elephants quilts, which make the room. Sadly, since publication, the couple is no longer together.
I made a delicious broccoli soup late yesterday garnished with leftovers. I had it for breakfast this morning and it was a delicious way to start my day. xo

Perfect Cabin Bedroom

Bring on the red woolen blankets! via I redid my bedding yesterday for winter and I slept like a log last night. I found a red and white toile duvet cover in my linen closet that I had forgotten all about and had never used. I put on clean white percale sheets (top sheet was ironed) and then I put on the down comforter layer. I put the reversible duvet cover on as a bedspread and it looks so nice. It was larger than my comforter and makes the perfect spread. My bed was so easy to make up this morning and I can't wait to jump in it again tonight. Is it wrong to wake up already planning going back to bed again? I think now. It's all about getting accustomed to daylight time minus the "savings". They say it takes a week for your body to get in the new rhythm. xo

Over The Bed Artwork for My Cottage

It only took 14 years to find the perfect artwork to hang over the antique bed in my guest room used as my dressing room. I found it yesterday at a thrift shop and within 30 minutes of getting it in the front door, it was happily hanging on the wall. I was standing in the doorway to get this photo and you can also see an antique tile, a hogscraper candlestick with a brass "wedding band" and a miniature chest on the table next to my bookcase.

It was very hard to photograph too. The bedspread is not pink, it's white. You can see the blue and white curtains in my bedroom through the window in this photo. This lithograph was made from an original 1987 painting by a deceased local artist. I always thought her work was very much like a Wyeth.

I found a photo of the print entitled: "Wild Rose Berries" circa 1987 by Pauline Eble Campanelli online by searching Google Images. Don't you think it's perfect for my room? It was worth the wait and I don't mind that it's a reproduction because everything else in the room is antique. The basket and cupboard that were the subjects of the painting were antiques and I bought the framed print for a song. The frame is stained a dark green and the matting is beautiful. Score!!

See you later. xo

Built-in Beds in Similar Small Rooms

This sleeping chamber is in one of the bedrooms belonging to India Hicks and David Flint Wood. See more photos inside their charming English Country House. Enjoy the wonderful tour.

This one confuses me no end. Maybe it's another bedroom in the same manse in Oxfordshire, though it's not pictured in the article in Architectural Digest. I found this photo here

Clever Bedroom for Two Children

This bedroom fascinates me. There is so much to look at in a small space. Imagine getting two beds and two fabulous built in desks on one wall with bookcases and art galleries. Hat's off to the designer and the builder. I love it. Such a happy space for two lucky children. via

The Dressing Room in My Cottage

I have photographed this room before but not this view. The table is at the foot of the antique bed. All of the floors in this wing of the cottage are painted this color, the hall and the smaller bedroom where I sleep. That room has no closet. So now you have another small peek into my home. It rained all morning but cleared up nicely by late afternoon.
I didn't watch Masterpiece last night but recorded it for later in the week. I am on the very last Season of MI-5 and should finish tomorrow. I am going to miss the best espionage thriller I have ever seen. I am so lucky to have such a good library chocked full of DVDs to entertain me. There is almost nothing on regular TV these days that holds my interest. The BBC Video productions have me thoroughly spoiled! See you soon. xo

Charming Attic Bedroom

You would have to mind your head when getting up in the morning but I dearly love what I see in this charming attic bedroom. The ticking duvet cover and pillow cases are perfect. via

Bedroom with an Art Wall

So instead of a bedside table, this room has a bedbehind table. It is also interesting to see a free standing bed. It's all pretty wonderful, isn't it? via I spy inside solid shutters and outside louvered shutters too. Bright sun must be a problem here with glare to interfere with reading. I too have a bright sun, glare problem which I intend to deal with next year. I have decided old-fashioned roller shades will be fitted on all my windows if I can find them. Wish me luck. See you later. Enjoy this beautiful Sunday. xo

Great Bedroom

It's getting nearer and nearer the time to jump in my own big brass bed and watch some DVDs from the library. I honestly don't look forward to the end of daylight savings time after Halloween when it will be dark before dinner. I like doing busy indoor work in the mornings and outside work after the sun dries out the dew on the grass. I guess I should try to get as much done in the next two weeks as I possibly can, right? Sounds like a plan. See you tomorrow. Enjoy your Saturday night. xo via

Wonderful Built-in Bed

Don't you just love this? What a great place to sleep. Yes, it would be a pain to change the linens and make up the bed but worth it. via

Bed in A Sleeping Nook

I really love this bed that is partially recessed into a sleeping nook. I especially like the built-in bookshelf within easy reach. Wish I could see the rest of the room. Have a great Sunday. xo via
