Farmer Mowed my Field Today

I'm so glad I was home when my first field mowing was done today. The ground was nice and hard and very dry so the conditions were perfect. We might get rain later today or tonight and that would be perfect too. The weather leading up to July 4th on Monday appears to be very nice. Hope you have a great long weekend. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Lady Liberty in a Folk Art Painting

Both photos and a wonderful article about our American flag found in link below. More delightful folk art and antique flag photos as well as a photo of the event (depicted in a painting) that inspired The Star Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key. Perfect reading today, July 4, 2021.

Read the article & enjoy the Fourth of July πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Hello July. Pool + Garden in Normandy

I am blown away by this wonderful place to swim in Normandy France. I love the natural tall grasses planted as a hedge around the wooden decking. This is where we shall have our virtual swim this week to welcome in July and July 4th. via

Have a Safe July 4th Holiday

Have a safe trip if you are going to be on the road for any distance, or a nice picnic if it's a short trip. I am going across town for a cookout with friends. Happy July 4th!!!

HAPPY JULY 4th 2018

Things are so much cooler since we had a torrential rain yesterday. You can see the mist coming back in the distance because the earth was hotter than the air.

Enjoy the fireworks tonight.

Remember this? It is an old composition I made on my kitchen counter with cherries and a flag made from safety pins and colored beads.

Here is another fireworks display.

Flags Over Fifth Avenue July 4, 1916

The Fourth of July, 1916. The Greatest Display of the American Flag Ever Seen in New York. This painting was inspired by the climax of the Preparedness Parade in May of that year. It must have been a wonderful sight to behold. Thankfully, we have this world-famous painting to document the historic World War I parade down Fifth Avenue. It's the 100-year anniversary of this great painting.

Enjoy your fireworks tonight!

Patriotic Porch

This is pretty wonderful, isn't it? I can hardly believe June is almost over. Love the pillow and the bunting. via

Pets and Fireworks

I've never had this problem with Webster and Tabitha but it's still a good idea, especially tonight. We have fireworks at a nearby park and we can see them from a distance over the treetops from the balcony of the cottage. Have a great long weekend everyone. xo

Happy July 4th 2014

I took this photo in my kitchen with my iPhone last year to celebrate Independence Day. Here it is again because I still love it and think it's so appropriate. I have eaten three large bags of sweet red cherries in the past couple of weeks and each and every one was delicious. I like them cold and right off the stem rather than cooked, even in a pie. They are my favorite fruit and the season is short so I eat as many as I can! The beaded flag pin is a rummage sale find. We had horrific rain, thunder and lightening last night thanks to Albert but it didn't last very long and I didn't lose power. It's much cooler this morning and still pretty gloomy but it should clear up nicely for evening fireworks. Enjoy the long holiday weekend and I'll do the same. xo

Weedless Garden

This really appeals to me since I have more weeds than I can possibly pull up. Have a great July 4th weekend. via xo

Hello July

I like this simple red, white, and blue snack tray. People like me can avoid the white chocolate pretzels and concentrate on the "real" foods and still feel like part of the party. Can you believe it's July already? The year is half over! I'm rushing this morning because I have a 10:00 appointment. See you later. Photo from Pinterest.
