This from an e-mail sent to me tonight from a friend:

I've been picking 3 different types of apple from our yard: Staymans (small, dark, tart); Cox's Orange Pippin (larger, red/orange w/stripes, sweet) & Chehalis (larger still, green/yellow w/no stripes, sweetest of all 3).

I've heard of Pippin of course but not an Orange Pippin. We need to revive all the heirloom apples we let go or lost and forget those awful cardboard-tasting, waxed apples in the corporate stores.

I love apples too and firmly believe there's something to the old saying, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."Gail, northern Californiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05606476543639979603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7823162730236792476.post-17715155763992447592016-09-27T23:16:45.281-04:002016-09-27T23:16:45.281-04:00I love to put a bunch in my dehydrator too!I love to put a bunch in my dehydrator too!Carrie @ Cottage Cozyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17722924566006835290noreply@blogger.com
