They migrate from Mexico to ...totally gorgeous!!!! They migrate from Mexico to Santa Barbara.....and there are sanctuaries here...they cluster like this....it is astonishing!! they look like leaves....and then you can see ; they are butterflies clustering on the Eucalyptus leaves!!<br /><br />They need milkweed! I plant Milkweed...and I find them laying their eggs...the caterpillars eat the leaves of the milkweed plant......(my gardener was horrified....I told him that was the point!)<br /><br />Then the caterpillar makes a chrysalis and then the monarch butterfly emerges!<br /><br />Beautiful!!!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
