MI-5 BBC TV Series My Current Obsession

This is the first time I have gotten involved in trying to watch 10 seasons of anything. Thank goodness for the library. I watched Season One from the shelf of my favorite library. It ended with the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers and I wanted more. BUT my library didn't have the rest of this series in 10 parts. Thankfully, they have been able to get subsequent seasons thru inter-library loan. I just finished Season 5 and Season 6 has been ordered. It's the most exciting thing I have EVER watched. I love British Spies, you know!

The acting is superb and the head of this counter intelligence agency is Peter Firth and he's wonderful. I enjoyed seeing him last night in the finale of Victoria on PBS. He played Duke Cumberland.

The actors come and go and are replaced by equally superb characters.

Have you seen this series? It was on PBS, I believe. It started in 2002. Anyway, it's on Hulu if you subscribe and it might be on Acorn. Thankfully, my library has been able to find them all for me, so far. Each season is very expensive to buy, selling for as much as $80 per season.

It is/was called SPOOKS in the UK.

Look for it. You will NOT be disappointed.

I watched the early ones on local PBS station late on Saturday nights.
They were wonderful.

MrsB -- Did you watch all 10 seasons? The last one called Series 10 ended in 2011. Glad to hear you enjoyed the program too.

I sure hope it's on Netflix. I watched another crime series on Netflix called The Killing and I am so sorry it's over. I loved that show. Just four seasons.

OMG, this is my absolute favorite series. I started watching it on A&E eons ago. I do my ironing watching the series - it's a miracle that there are no burn marks on items at heart-stopping moments. I love this mix of Lady Antebellum's music and MI5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEUquirJbFA

If this link doesn't work just search youtube for Spooks Need You now

Have you tried The Line of Duty? It's a 3 season (so far) cop drama that is absolutely riveting from BBC or ITV. All 3 seasons are now available on Netflix.

Candice...I will look into Line of Duty after I watch seasons 6 thru 10 of MI-5. Each season has 5 DVD so I have 25 discs to watch. I am waiting for Season 6 which is being ordered through Inter-Library Loan. Can't wait.
Thanks for the recommendation.

Lisa -- Sometimes I can't even breath while watching MI-5. I certainly couldn't take my eyes off the screen to iron!!! Glad you like it too. I haven't tried searching YouTube yet since my library has been able to get each season I have requested. It's still very timely too.

Vickie H -- I am pretty sure MI-5 is on Hulu. Set aside some time when you will not be interrupted when you start watching it. It is very exciting.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEUquirJbFA copy and paste this link and it will take you to a compilation of Ruth/Harry scenes with the song "I Need You Now" as background. It's great and I think you'll like it. As for ironing and watching, I've watched the series since it first aired and practically know the dialogue so it's not too hard and I know what scenes to keep my eyes on, the ones that still blow me away as I can't believe what I've just seen.

Lisa -- thanks for the link to YouTube. I have to finish watching all 10 seasons before I start watching YouTube. Love the music that goes with Harry and Ruth. They both have such expressive faces!!!

I have watched some of it on BBC and PBS.

I just finished watching all the Midsummer Murder episodes in order on Netflix. I think it was about 118; it was a marathon.
