Ladies in Lavender -- DVD Movie Recommendation

I watched this movie over the weekend and LOVED IT. For some reason I decided to look in the Foreign Films section at the library and it was filled with movies made in Great Britain in English with no subtitles. I was so happy!

Maggie Smith and Judi Dench are wonderful as is the story and the scenery. Look for it at your library or find it on Netflix. You can thank me later! Click the second photo to enlarge and read the description. xo

I saw the Ladies In Lavender recently myself. I had it a long time and when I had a trip planned with my daughter, grand daughter and some of her friends (as a girls) weekend, I took it along. They all thought it was going to be dull and "an old lady's" movie. They were all surprised and really loved it. Great acting as always, in BBC movies. Thanks for sharing it on your blog. Always enjoy reading your blog.

Oh... I love that movie! But with the cast, how could it not be wonderful?

It's one of my favorites. You might also enjoy Enchanted April and My House in Umbria, if you haven't seen them.

Maggie Curiel -- Thank you. I haven't seen either. Will look for them at the Library.

Windmill Farm -- What a nice girls weekend that must have been. Glad the younger set enjoyed the movie too. I think it's really worth owning so you can watch it again and again.

I watched this movie a couple/few years ago. Judi Dench's performance was so very poignant it almost hurt my heart! Now you've urged me to watch it again.
