Wonderful Small Garden and Shed

Actually, the garden isn't that small if you consider both sides of the wide path. I would want that shed to be at least twice as large to accommodate all my stuff. A window or two would also be nice. via

I have been working outside non-stop this week. I got my riding mower back from the shop on Thursday and mowed my entire property. It's never looked better and I am thrilled. There's nothing like a good blade sharpening to make me happy beyond words. For the past couple of years I have had my tune-up just before the last few Fall mowings before putting my Snapper to bed for the winter and that has worked out very well. This way, it's ready for spring needing nothing but new gasoline.

I woke up to 30° temps this morning. I covered my few potted plants with old white towels last night and they look like Halloween ghosts. Enjoy your Sunday. xo

Just do you get your mower to the shop and back? A friend with a pickup?

Gail -- the rmower repair shop has reasonably priced pick up and delivery. They even dropped it off before I stopped by to pay my bill with a credit card. Plus I really don't know anyone that has the proper vehicle for this job.

That repair shop is worth it's weight in gold. The peace of mind they provide that the job will be done right, first and foremost, but what a godsend having pickup and delivery!

I have a feeling you're well-respected in the community too, Rosemary. That speaks volumes.

This looks like Williamsburg ... But may be a recreation. I love these small gardens, if I had a couple acres, I suspect I would make a few small gardens ... Attached. Garden rooms.

My neighbor told me that mowing is therapeutic ... I totally understand.

Unusually cold here too .... Christmas is around the corner. Yikes

Cheers ... Enjoy this accelerating season.

Karen....It's cold here too. I brought all my plants inside for the winter. I also think mowing is therapeutic. I love getting a good pattern going and I almost never stop until I'm finished unless I run out of gas.
Are you still in Virginia since you moved. Did you find your cottage?
I prefer not to think about the holidays yet. One season at a time

Gail - I usually go back into the repair shop to chat with the owner and the workers so I'll get a good job. Yes, pick up and delivery is a good thing.

I love the image of your towel covered plants looking like ghosst. I covered the plants tonight on my porch with two huge sheets of plastic, they look like ghosts too. We are well into fall, this cold snap has helped the leaves turn color a bit faster. The grass is lush green and the air so cool and crisp, I just love this time of year. This fall is bittersweet as it will be our last one in Virginia. I'm savoring and lapping it up.

You are smart to get your mower serviced in the fall. I agree with another commenter, I bet you are well thought of in your community.
