Living Room Corner in My Cottage

I haven't posted any photos of inside the cottage lately. Here's a corner in my living room near one of the French doors leading out to the balcony. It has been cool and breezy for the past couple of days and I have done some quality mowing. Tomorrow I shall deal with the weeds in places too tight for the mower. Weed whacking is something I enjoy once I get set up with all of my long electric cords. I put it off as long as I possibly can because it's a pain. Have a great weekend. xo

Oh, oh, oh I just love it when you give us a peek into the cottage. Every space you share is so warm and inviting.

It has cooled down here in Virginia too, hard to believe it is almost mid-August. I've hardly had to water at all this summer and I'm really grateul for that. I know what you mean about dragging out the cords for gardening chores, it's a hassle.

Rosemary, I so admire the way you do all your own yard work. These days tasks such as these that (I feel) every home owners should do are so often "hired out." We're becoming a society of lazy old lumps who don't have the physical stamina or even knowledge of how to do the simplest of tasks in taking care of ourselves. That old self-responsibility factor is fast flying out the window. You go, girl.

Lovely group of beautiful antiques, perfect for the cottage, and I'll bet all the little "smalls" have lots of meaning to you.

Absolutely lovely cottage picture!! I so enjoy seeing your beautiful home!
I agree about the weed-eaters....not hard, but a pain in the neck to get started. Hedge trimmers are just as bad if not worse :^(
Have a good weekend...I hope you are still getting some rain...Texas is bone dry and HOT!!
Blessings,

I love this room! Could you please tell me what color the walls are? The are so soft and warm and yet not yellow. I love what you have done with it!

Deborah -- Wood paneled walls are painted BENNINGTON GRAY by Benjamin Moore HC82. I used oil paint in a satin finish. All my rooms have this wood trim color with Lancaster Whitewash by Benjamin on plaster walls and ceilings. My kitchen cabinets are in a custom old red to match the base of my farm table. Go to GOOGLE IMAGES to see examples of these paint colors. Hope this helps. xo, Rosemary
