Tabitha, Two Months Ago

This photo was taken on June 3, 2015. I think it was on this very day that Webster knocked the cat dish off the chair trying to get the last piece of kibble out and it broke on the bluestone walk. Now Tabitha is gone too.
Thank you all for your kind concern about her passing. I saw it coming so I had some advance warning. I am really okay and I'm glad it happened in the summer while she was outside and happy. She really didn't seem to be suffering either, not even on her last day. Good-bye, sweetheart. You will be missed. xo

It's such a blessing when animals go the way Tabitha did. Our dog, Zoey, did the same thing. We knew she was failing (she was approaching 14 years old) because she was getting skinnier and skinnier although her appetite remained to the end. One morning we found her stretched out on the floor. I had heard a soft "thud" sometime during the night and thought it was just her lying down. (She was never very graceful!) I'm sure she collapsed and was gone just that quickly.

So sorry, Rosemary, to hear about Tabitha's passing. I have enjoyed seeing the pics you post of her. It sounds like she had a good, long life, though, so you were blessed.

oh rosemary.
i don't come onto the computer every day. i missed tabitha leaving this world to be with anna.
tears still for both are shining in my eyes as i write this.

i always felt your mother was so special. and going back a post and seeing her with tabita all over again... it just brings tears.

i know you wouldn't want tabitha to suffer.
but she was somehow a link to anna.

hugs to you dearest lady.
now webster must become even more special to us!

day after day we come here to find beauty and inspiration and humor and well... the best friendship ever. xo♥

Dear Rosemary, Just read about Tabitha .The photo of your Mother with T.on a leash has always been a favorite of mine. Each time I've had to say good-by to a pet I've told myself that had they not found our family they may not have had a wonderful life. Sending love to you and Webster. You both gave Tabitha a wonderful life.xo Annette
