Too Much Rain !

We are in the worst weather pattern and the peonies are not happy. We went from no rain to too much rain and I really need a few sunny days for a project at one of my real estate listings.

I don't have a peonie plant but I have noticed that the blooms on my tomato plants keep falling off, thinking they are getting way to much rain here in Nashville.

Oh dear, pour drenched peonies, hopefully dryer weather is on the way.

I know what you mean about too much rain. We had same pattern a few weeks ago, but now we're beginning to get the summer heat. That means watering by hand everything on my patio ..... Clay pots and such dry out very fast and my patio has to endure high afternoon heat. Hopefully the rain will subside for you soon.

I had some fabulous peonies in Portlamd. But the rain would always knock them down, and they don't really swing back when it dries. So I used to build make-shift tents that protected them. I could put the cover over the stakes quickly and they didn't get pelted.

I know, it sounds nuts, but it broke my heart when my favorite flowers slumped and I had to say "well, there's always next year."

Good luck,

Karen in VA -- I am going to put up stakes and a tarp next year. Thanks for the great idea.
