So Many Acorns This Year

I have bumper crops of acorns and chestnuts this year. The squirrels and chipmunks are overjoyed. Please tell me this is not a prediction for another winter like last year. I certainly hope not. via

Oh, I'm with you. Our fall is warm and late, same as last year and winter was long and hard. Hope there isn't a repeat performance.

Our two oak trees in the front of our house are 8 years old. This is the first year that they have produced acorns. The squirrels are running around collecting all of them that they can….hmmm could be a harder winter than anticipated. But, I'm hoping that's not the case, especially for you Rosemary.

Oh gosh ... Second report today. My friends live in Teaneck NJ and reported unheard of golf ball size acorns that are dropping like bombs. Their yard man says it's definitely a sign of brutal winter.

We still have tiny ones .... I like to gather them for decorations, but the squirrels are running like mad with them. All I can find are the tops.

Good luck ... You may have to get a voodoo doll for old man winter !

Karen and Victoria....
I'll be fine as long as I have power. I'd like to see those huge acorns. There's nothing we can do about the weather. Today was a lovely fall day and I was out in it running around. Enjoy the evening.
xo, Rosemary

Well ... These people are prone to drama ... Golf ball size could be a stretch.
