Manners and Paint by Numbers Art

I like this illustrated quote. via

This takes me back. I got a paint by numbers kit every Christmas for as long as I can remember when I was a kid. I like this one. People collect these now, you know. via

The vintage paint by numbers artwork looks perfect here, doesn't it? via

I love these paint by numbers art, works and they are quite collectible. I did them too in my teens, I wonder where they are now.

Cheers

I remember my sister getting one of those Palmer paint by number kits for Christmas when I was a one digit kid. Mom knew better than to give me one as my attention span would never have allowed for the completion of the painting.

In early 2001 I viewed a Paint by Number exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum. I really enjoyed it especially learning the history of this art form and it's place in our culture. The art critics of the day called it, "Art for Morons." Oh well, I was delighted to see via that exhibit that I owned a museum quality painting. My father-in-law painted a Palmer hibiscus paint by number which I have in my craft room, it looks just as good, if not better than the one I saw in the Smithsonian exhibit.

R…you might find this post interesting. In the meantime I think I'll post of photo of my fine museum art on Instagram. And yes, that bedroom looks smashing with all those numbered paintings.
