English Manor Decor

I love this photo and the caption that came with it.
Upstairs hall, untouched since 1964 in leading British architect Sir Albert Richardson’s (1880-1964) perfect country home in Bedfordshire, England. Via Christies - London, September 2013, image by Simon Upton.

This is absolutely perfect. I love when a room (or hallway) looks as collected as this, and almost tells the story of a life's journey. The hunt is the most fun part of being an antique lover, no?

Tim -- Definitely, the thrill of the hunt is the best thing about antiquing. I love the way this hallway evolved instead of being decorated overnight. Enjoy the last week of August.

What a wonderful space. The English have always known how to make rooms not only beautiful, but comfortable.
Happy Monday, Rosemary.

Karen...So true. I've always admired their acceptance of worn upholstery. They embrace it much better than we do :)

While I do disagree with the caption, I do love the hall and want to see the rest of the house. Maybe even in person.

Still in Ohio, progress is being made despite some lows, now we're shooting for highs.
