Happy July 4th 2014

I took this photo in my kitchen with my iPhone last year to celebrate Independence Day. Here it is again because I still love it and think it's so appropriate. I have eaten three large bags of sweet red cherries in the past couple of weeks and each and every one was delicious. I like them cold and right off the stem rather than cooked, even in a pie. They are my favorite fruit and the season is short so I eat as many as I can! The beaded flag pin is a rummage sale find. We had horrific rain, thunder and lightening last night thanks to Albert but it didn't last very long and I didn't lose power. It's much cooler this morning and still pretty gloomy but it should clear up nicely for evening fireworks. Enjoy the long holiday weekend and I'll do the same. xo

Bless you, Rosemary! Don't know if it was anything you tweaked, but now I can view your blog again! A daily ritual I dearly missed. :-)

A Happy Fourth of July to you! I have a little pin just like yours .... my Mom made it after she became a "crafter" in an assisted living home. A very simple way to show our patriotism.

I'm so glad you reposted this photo, it's great.

I feel exactly the same way about cherries except for me they are tied with raspberries as a favorite. So far this season I've eaten 3 bags too. The first bag was pretty tart but the last two have been sweet and DELICIOUS. I bought another bag last night.

Hope you have a lovely celebration today. Happy to know that the storm has passed although I wonder if you'll get some of Hurricane Arthur this weekend.

JudyMac....I think there has been a problem with Google because I have been getting endless "Service Not Available" messages lately while working on new posts. Everything appears to be fixed now. I didn't know anyone was having trouble viewing my blog. Enjoy your Sunday.
