Moving Furniture Around in My Cottage

When my desk came back from the restorer after I snapped off the lid (yes, I did!), I decided to put it in the living room instead of its old location in the kitchen and I like it. The guys did a wonderful job repairing the lid and they fixed all of the drawer runners in the case so I can now open and close them with ease. I'm so happy! Have a great weekend. xo

Love the wall panelling! Did you do that as well?

Candice....Yes. The whole room is paneled to cover the peeling plaster that was in the room when I purchased my cottage in 2001. Glad you like it.

Lovely, practical piece of furniture. So glad it's back home and you're happy with the results.

My dining room chairs have been repaired. Now it's my turn to select upholstery fabric. The practical side of me says a darker shade. I'll turn 70 this year so I'm starting to think "Life is too short. I'm going with a lighter shade. Let someone else worry about it when I'm gone." ;-)

My Memorial Day weekend will be spent moving things around too. My husband promises to help, of course when he gets back from playing golf. I can hear him, "Let me rest just a few minutes." SNORE. SNORE. And it's always another day. Gotta get a wardrobe from my sister today so his rest will be interrupted! Enjoy.

Hi Rosemary,
I like your living room, Real Englisch style!!! That's also the style I like.
Beautiful furniture. The panelling is also nice.
I wish you a nice weekend.

What a beauty. Welcome home, desk. Isn't it amazing what a difference it makes to shuffle the furniture even a little bit.
Happy Glorious weekend. We have enjoyed a lovely day in Northern VA and hope yours has been the same.

Karen in VA -- Karen, Thanks. I love seeing things with new eyes when they are moved to a new spot. They aren't invisible anymore. It's hard moving the lamps and smalls though. I'm still moving them around!
Enjoy the long weekend.

Rosemary, what a beautiful desk. I'm sure you missed it. And now after having it beautifully repaired I bet you were so happy to welcome home this functional lovely friend.

I love changing things around, more than likely because of my short attention span. As you know though, I usually just move everything to a new abode.

Your cottage is perfection and if I had such a charming home I'd never want to leave it….but, I would probably occasionally move the furniture.
