Forgive me but I don't understand #763, Why wouldn't you want to open credit card bills on the weekend?

Gail...I don't know. Maybe the father considered paying bills and opening bills to be a workday task that might ruin a weekend, depending on the balance. I usually don't make it to the post office on Saturday because it closes early so I don't open mine either.
Happy April!

I never open bills on the weekend. Something could be wrong and it would hang on my brain during the precious 2 days of joy. There's also the chance that guilt could set in if it's a bit more weighty than expected.

Guilt is never for the weekend.

I'm glad to hear you say, "I don't know." because that one had me scratching my head.

Like it or not, bills are opened and paid immediately weekend or otherwise. Sealed and stamped, weekdays they either go directly to the mailbox for pickup or if I'm going to town and can include a stop at the post office, they're on a small table before I enter the door off the entryway to the garage. Can't miss 'em then!

Karen...I think you brought up a good point. If there is some sort of discrepancy in the bill, you probably couldn't get it resolved until Monday morning anyway and then you would worry about it for the whole weekend.
Looking back, I see that I only pay bills during the week when the banks are open.

Gail...
Your system is working for you so you shouldn't change it.
I usually pay all of my bills on the same day. For some reason they all seem to arrive within two or three days of each other. I always pay my property taxes in person ever since they credited my check to the wrong account years ago when I mailed it in.

Yikes. I don't blame you for paying your property taxes in person now. I would too.

Happy Birthday to Mr. Webster.
