Bird Bread -- Continued

Here it is upside down after the second baking.

Back upstairs in my kitchen cooling.

First slice with homemade hummus. I like it. I just made up the hummus. I dumped a can of drained and rinsed chickpeas in my food processor along with a couple spoonfuls of organic oven dried tomatoes in olive oil from Costco and a generous amount of lemon juice and whizzed it all together. It was delicious.

Stacey...Those Kirkland Oven Dried Tomatoes in the huge glass jar are one of my favorite Costco finds. They are so flavorful and versatile. This is the first time I've used them in hummus but not the last.

It looks interesting, but I'm not sure I want to invest in all that psyllium. Actually, the ingredients make this bread a little pricey for me, but I guess you only eat a little at a time. I'm intrigued by the dried tomatoes as an alternative to the ones in the stores all winter, which I never buy. The funny thing about reading your blog posts every night is I can't keep myself from clicking on the "You Might Also Like" posts, which I do like, and then I'm off and running and looking through all sorts of old posts. You have interesting tastes in many things.

Anon....You are right about the ingredients of this bread being expensive. Luckily I already had a lot them in my pantry.
The organic oven dried tomatoes in olive oil from Costco are great and very versatile. I put them in salads, spread them on crusty bread and top with cheese and stick under the broiler for an easy pizza. All of the ingredients are organic too. I don't buy winter tomatoes because they are tasteless.

I look forward to seeing what you are sending as it's always s surpise, but do enjoy viewing the animals.
Thank you for all you do.
The Avacado, if you are saving half in a container, just carefully pour water over it to cover and it will stay green for you.
