Buried in The White Stuff

The ice on top of the snow is so strong you can walk on it and it won't cave in. Webster is completely freaked out by it because he slips and slides and can't find a place to "go". Tabitha has her claws so she's fine. Extreme caution is in order for everyone. My driveway is like the luge without going to Sochi.

Oh my dears, do be careful. That combo of snow and ice can be deadly. We had a situation like that here about six years ago and it was very dangerous. Poor Webster, at least you understand what's going on, he must be very bewildered.

I hope the weather forecasters are way off on their next snow predictions and that you only get a minimal amount from this next storm.

Do you have to worry about water damning on your roof? Praying that you all "Cottage" residents stay warm and safe.

Do you have plenty of food, water, and firewood?

... poor darling Webster ... stay safe

Do beware of the black ice. While walking Josie yesterday morning, I went down on a little patch and she, thinking it a delightful new game, pounced on top of me! I survived the crash test and Josie must have thought it the most amusing walk ever.

Linda....Glad you are okay. My green wellies have the best gripping soles ever. I am still very cautious...always looking down.

Karen in VA and Sally...Thank you. Yes, I have plenty of food, water and firewood. As long as I have power I'm fine. My well doesn't work when power goes out but that hasn't happened since Superstorm Sandy.

Victoria...I don't have to worry about ice dams because my roofers put that rubber membrane much higher that was recommended....maybe even under all of the shingles. We are fine...really.

I can see from your comments to your concerned readers you are fine. Just be careful walking, you, Tabitha and Webster.
On a less serious note, your cottage, with its new paint, looks fabulous dressed in snow. It really is a very pretty cottage.
