After and Before from Country Living

I thought I'd shake things up and show you the after project first. From Country Living Magazine.

This is what the house looked like three years before the above photo was taken. That's how long the restoration took. I can't find a link to show you what it looked like inside. These photos were on Instagram today. You can't beat good bones, can you. Like the before, love the after.
The snow I had this morning quit by noon and didn't amount to much, thank goodness!

Oh my gosh! Good gracious! Holy cow! I wonder what the total cost was compared to what it would have been if they tore it down and started over? I love how they kept the (outside anyway) so identical to the original. I could move in there, couldn't you?

Isn't it amazing ... I saw it on IG and thought of you. Glad to see it posted, you can't beat good bones. And what a wonderful piece of land to have a house.

Glad the snow wasn't a big one. Fingers crossed for not much more this season. You've done your share of shoveling.

Took a lot of faith. Well worth it. Our snow didn't stick either. The other day I dumped a big pile of snow into the driveway to melt and run into the sewer. The goal was to uncover at least part of the spring bulb bed. Sure enough, the next day I noticed sprouts. It's so cold now I don't think they'll grow much, but as soon as it warms up, they should shoot up. I'm so sick of looking at the snow, I can't wait for it all to melt. I may go out and shovel more into the driveway to help get rid of it. Wondering if you've noticed anything coming up.

Anon....Not a chance. We still have too much snow on the ground. I have shoveled out my boxwood so I can have some green to look at. I keep reading about other people's daffodils, snow drops, hellebores, crocuses, and other spring flowering bulbs but we have none up here. It will probably be another month before we see the ground. Thanks for asking.
