Preview of Tonight

Add a fire in the fireplace and this will be me tonight as I watch Sherlock. I am not a sports fan and I'm so happy PBS will not be interrupting the one program I've been waiting for so anxiously. Of course, I will be watching Downton Abbey before the new season of my favorite detectives. I HOPE I can stay awake until midnight for the 2-hour premier. Will your household be with me or the Super Bowl?

I'm with you but I will probably have to watch Sherlock on the computer since I won't be able to stay up that late.

LANA...I might do the same thing. Or watch Sherlock later this week when nothing else is on and I'll start watching at 8PM. That way I know I'll be able to stay awake. Good idea.

SHERLOCK! We will record it (although my son swears that he'll stay up until midnight in order to watch it).

Record, of course, so that if we nod off we can pick it up again.

I won't be watching Sherlock...but I'll definitely have my feet propped up watching SOMEthing besides the game! Looks like you have a perfectly wonderful and cozy evening planned! Julie

I now live in NO CA; so I can see what is happening in the sports/news world and then sit glued to Downton and Sherlock :)

You couldn't pay me to watch sports, except the Olympics. Looking forward to Sherlock. Why do they have to piggyback Downton and Sherlock? Wish they'd air them different days; it's a lot to take in at once, and definitely hard to stay up. I was sorry I followed Halifax, which I wasn't that keen on, and then fall asleep during Paradise, which made me give up on it. I found it especially hard to see the same actress playing two completely different characters in the two shows. For my elderly mother's sake, I wish they'd put Masterpiece on way earlier. Then again, I hate for her to have to deal with the subplot about Anna. I'm not looking forward to that myself. Isn't it funny how Sherlock is about grisly murders, but we're all excited to watch it. Maybe some extra strong cocoa will keep me awake.

We'll record both shows because in truth I can't stay up very late anymore. I too wish they would have shown the 2 shows on separate nights to there'd be more to watch.
BTW, the Super Bowl isn't until Feb. 2nd. This is playoffs for the 4 finalists and then there will be 2 teams to play in the Super Bowl.
