View from My Kitchen Window

The window over my kitchen sink is perfectly situated. I get to see the sunrise in the morning and the moonrise in the evening. What could be better? This is a southeastern exposure so the sun/moon activity starts in the trees to the far left and travels up and to the right in an arc. Tomorrow is the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year. Set your alarm and get up early so you'll have a full day of sun. I like to get home before dark, homebody that I am. How about you?

The front of my townhouse has a southeast exposure, and at this time of year I get to see both the sun and moon rise from my LR and BR windows through a heavily wooded area like yours. Along the edge of the treeline, I can also see Peter Rabbit snooping around at night for any leftover seeds from those which I put out for the birds. I find the southeast exposure provides good sunshine for the few plants I bring in to winter over in front of the windows. I'm always up late at night, but usually in the company of a good book.

JudyMac...I have that exposure in my living room and bedroom too. My kitchen, living room, and bedroom are all one room wide so I can see the front and the back at the same time. My second bedroom and bathroom have a hallway between. The man who built my house in the 1930s was born just up the street and he situated my cottage perfectly. I am the lucky second owner. Your townhouse sounds perfect too.
Have a very Merry Christmas.
