I've always admired your stamina and life interests in general.

Now, it seems I need to add courage. The courage you have shown adjusting to a life living alone. After 43 years of marriage, it's an adjustment that appears beyond me. Just the mere fact of not having someone to talk to saddens me. If it were something that had an end, I might be able to cope but this is the rest of my life.

Sorry, Rosemary. I'm going through another rough patch. Of course, I wish you a "Season filled with Sweetness Too"

Gail...I just have a temperament that's different from yours. I am a true introvert and maybe you are not. I'm not much of a talker either. Neither was my mom. We could sit together in silence for long periods....with neither of us feeling uneasy. So I take after her.
I wish I could give you a magic solution but unfortunately I cannot. You will find a way to keep going and there WILL be more happiness for you ahead but you will have to look for it.
I hope you get over this rough patch soon. First Christmases alone are not easy. Just try to think back on your happy 43 years.
xo, Rosemary

Excellent advice from you to Gail! Your common sense and life experiences have made you a wise woman Rosemary.

An introvert, really? Well, you're not an introvert on your blog and that is a sweetness I can appreciate. I'm tying to cutback on the sugary sweets of this season (I'm doing a lousy job at that) and enjoy all the other sweetness that in brings. I hope you are supping at that table too.
