A Yawn from The Wonder Dog

Webster is ready to call it a day and so am I. We had the plumber here today and all went well. He will be back when the part he had to order comes in. It's so nice to have all my faucets working nicely without dripping. I had most of them turned off entirely. The furnace has been checked and serviced and it was fine. Webster and I are taking care of Henry, the Cavalier King Charles spaniel and he went to bed long ago. We have worn him out completely. The house is being power washed tomorrow so I guess the painting will start next week. This week I've had electricians, a plumber and a gutter repair person who knows what must be done but hasn't started yet. My punch list is slowly shrinking. Yay. Good night. We'll see you tomorrow.

Rosemary,
You're such an inspiration, getting all your fall chores done. I just needed a kick to get going :). Can't wait to see the cottage with a fresh new coat of paint. Have a great weekend.

Your week almost sounds like mine only I am doing the work myself. One toilet needs a replacement part inside to keep it from running all the time so I have it turned off. Tonight the other toilet sprung a leak where the water hose goes into the toilet, meaning I need to replace the guts again. But the shut off valve won't shut off and after mopping up the water I had to call my neighbor to come out at 11pm in the dark and in the rain to shut the water off at the meter until I can get to the store to get new parts. Not to mention I have the hot water shut off at the kitchen sink because it drips.

Ok, I am officially tired of water issues.

What a great feeling of accomplishment. I can't wait to see the new paint job. Your adventures remind me of my years as a home owner. I bought and updated four houses in different parts of the country, and loved every minute.

Now I like just making a phone call when trouble strikes. Your posts almost make me want to "do it again."

Have fun .. Karen in CT, now VA

OK - I'll say it: I am jealous of plumbers, power washers:) etc. coming to your house! My husband is such a procrastinator . . .

You take such loving care of your little cottage and I do what I can:) So if you don't mind - I'll just live vicariously through you . . keep us posted on the progress - we love to hear (and see) the process!

Oh that sort of repair stuff has been going on around here, too. You are very wise to get everything done before winter sets in. How secure and cozy your house will be! I look forward to more posts about the painting, etc.
