Great Mac and Cheese Recipe

I went to a birthday party last night and took my heart shaped Bennington Pottery spongeware casserole full of the best Mac and Cheese I have ever made. It got rave reviews too. I doubled this recipe. I used unsweetened soy milk instead of 2% milk. I didn't think it tasted quite salty enough so I put some torn slices of muenster cheese all over the top. I was going to take that cheese back to Costco because I thought it was too salty but it ended up coming in handy. I also poked some thick slices of cheddar all around too instead of spreading grated cheddar on top. It was so good.

As a dyed-in-the-wool mac and cheese lover, I've got to say that looks wonderful! And what a great casserole dish. No wonder your contribution to the meal was a hit!

Looks decidedly decadent. Yum.

The potluck...was it at a friend's house or are you lucky enough to have family nearby?

Gail...It was at a friend's house. Her youngest daughter was 6 years old. Piggy the French Bulldog lives there too.

Mama Pea...It was wonderful and the dish it was cooked in made it taste even better. I'll definitely use that recipe again.

.... it looks absolutely fabulous, but has SATAN written on it during these diet days. I am trying to get rid of a few pounds that jumped onto me when I wasn't looking.

Karen,,,

I hear you. Same here. That's why I didn't bring the leftovers home.

I haven't been looking either.

Rosemary,
This recipe looks delicious. I have a favorite and yet I believe I'll try this one. Can't wait until it cools a bit so we can enjoy mac and cheese in front of a roaring fire.

I love muenster cheese, and it always seems to be salty (that probably why I like it so much!).

Beautiful dish!
