Summertime at My Cottage

Here is a photo from a recent walk with the wonder dog. He got way ahead, choosing shade over sun just like me.

Then Webster enjoyed a good roll in the tall grass and clover. I see a good mowing in my future sometime soon. We are enjoying air conditioning again for only the second time this year and the house is very comfortable. Stay cool and I'll see you later.

Yes, mowing is a real part of summer time. We are constantly trying to think of ways to reduce the lawn we have to mow. Every year I promise my husband I'll do more of the mowing (because I really don't mind it at all), but my time is so tied up with our big veggie gardens and berry patches that our division of labor seems to stay the same.

Hi Rosemary,
Webster sure knows how to have a good time! Your cottage is larger than I thought it would be. Very pretty. And what a lovely yard. Sara, Ohio

My cottage looks small from the front. I'm on a slope so the entire lower level is visible from the back and so is the dormered attic. It is a 3 story building from the back and a tiny cottage with eyebrow windows from the front. The red outbuilding is the garage with loft above. Webster and I love our big yard.

Mama Pea....

I don't know how you and your husband keep up with your huge property. It's all I can do to mow when the mood strikes me and keep the house halfway decent. But I wouldn't have it any other way and I'm sure you wouldn't either.
